Children and Young People’s Groups

The current pandemic means we are not able to run all of our groups in the usual way. Some have stopped temporarily, others are meeting in other ways (for example online).  Further down the page, below each of the groups, is a summary in pink outlining what that group is currently doing. If you would like to find out more please contact the church office for more information.

We have a number of groups for children and young people at St. Paul’s. Each of the groups has its own page so if you’d like more information then please explore the ‘Young People’ menu to find out more.

Thursday afternoon during term time from 1.30pm: LITTLE TREASURES Toddler group welcomes parents, grandparents, carers and babies and toddlers. Do join us for a friendly chat, and plenty of activities for busy preschool children! First visit is free, then £1 per family to cover the cost of refreshments and craft activities.

Little Treasures are currently meeting online via Zoom, primarily as an opportunity for parents to chat and support one another.

Friday evenings from 5pm until 7pm: HEATH CAFÉ is for children in school years 4, 5, 6 and 7. Food is provided and there are games, crafts and activities . The group meet in the Church hall. Cost £1. Tuck shop sweets and drinks for a small cost.

Heath Cafe is not meeting at this time.

Sunday mornings: SUNDAY CLUB is for all children, reception to yr 6. This takes place on 3 out the 4 Sundays per month.  Please ask on arriving in church if you would like your children to attend.  Each time there are lots of activities and discussions relating to stories from the bible.

Although Sunday Club is not currently running, families are warmly encouraged to bring their children to church on Sundays. On the third Sunday of the month we have a child friendly All-Age service. While we wait for Sunday Club to start up again you may find these online resources helpful:

‘Faith in Kids’ have provided a collection of short (approx. 3 minute) videos which you can find here: V_q7LXB4P5HvqVvF965xEZ5imTQqv. There are craft suggestions and simple discussion questions to accompany it which you can find here:

Once a month: D-TEAM is our discipleship/Bible study group for 11 to 16-year olds.  It’s led by Natalie and Matt Williams and meets on the last Tuesday of the month, 7.30pm to 8.45pm, at their home. If you’d like to know more please ask.

Good news! D-Team now meets fortnightly on Zoom. We have two groups, one for younger members and one for those a bit older. Each session involves a mixture of fun games, chat, and reflection on what God says in Bible.

Young People aged 11+ may also enjoy ‘Rock Solid’. These fun online Youth Group Sessions are provided by Woolhampton 2 leaders Rich and Alice Nurden, and Jono Chalklin – so if you’ve been to Woolie 2 you’ll probably recognise them! They lead the youth work at St. John’s Church in Tunbridge Wells and their videos are on YouTube. You can find the latest Rock Solid video here:

Second Sundays at 4pm: FRESH is our relaxed, informal get-together for families with children and young people.  There’s a choice of craft and activities – you get to choose what you do and in what order. There’s a bible story, singing and prayers and at 5pm there’s a light meal for the children. There’s copious amounts of tea and coffee for the adults. Voluntary donations for the cost of materials and food are gratefully received.

Fresh is not meeting at this time.

At Easter we have our annual holiday club for school aged children.  We have drama, crafts, songs and fun! It is a wonderful opportunity for the children to make some discoveries about God and following Jesus.

All our child and youth leaders are DBS checked and receive safeguarding training.

Do speak to a church leader if you would like any information on any of these activities! Ring the church office on 01202 605311.
