Some answers to frequently asked questions...
Baptism
Often, the first step is that parents come along to take part in a morning service and meet the vicar. Invitations are offered to our monthly Baptism Preparation session, where Baptism and Thanksgiving are discussed and there is an opportunity to ask questions. Following this, church members will visit each family to discuss the preparation session, answer any further questions and complete the form with requested dates. As part of the preparation, families are asked to attend the service a week prior to the Baptism date at 10am for an introduction to the Sunday congregation. Baptism is on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm, at which the family and friends gather to celebrate. The family then return to church the following Sunday at 10am, to be welcomed by the congregation.
Weddings:
We welcome marriage and are keen to assist couples prepare for their lives together. As a venue, St.Paul's should be
visited to appreciate the modern open design. Seating up to 250, with only 10 curved rows of chairs. Choir available and our Hall is available for reception or celebrations etc.
Funerals
We all find the death of a loved one difficult. St.Paul's offers a comforting, intimate setting. An annual 'Service of Remembering' in late Spring, helps to remember and give thanks for loved ones who have died. The Book of Remembrance is available and those listed are prayed for on the anniversary of their passing. Donations (small or large) in memory of loved ones are welcome. These help the church to remain available for all, through the years.
